Introduction
The BFSI Sector Skill Council of India (“Council”, “we”, “our”, “us”) is a not-for-profit organization working under the mandate of the Government of India to develop, implement, and monitor skill development initiatives in the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) sector.
This Refund Policy & Terms & Conditions (T&C) document lays down the rules governing your enrollment, participation, payment, cancellation, and refund entitlements when engaging with our programs, assessments, certifications, and services.
By registering for or using any of our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms.
PART I – GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. Scope & Applicability
These Terms & Conditions apply to all candidates, learners, trainers, institutions, employers, or any individual/entity (“User”, “Participant”, “you”, “your”) availing our services.
Services include training, certification, assessments, workshops, online courses, placement facilitation, digital platforms, and all related activities offered by the Council.
These terms also apply to services offered in collaboration with training partners, assessment bodies, universities, colleges, and corporate entities.
2. Registration & Enrollment
- Users must complete registration using accurate, current, and verifiable information.
- Misrepresentation of identity, qualifications, or credentials may lead to suspension or cancellation of enrollment without refund.
- Enrollment confirmation is subject to: Submission of complete and accurate application form; Payment of applicable fees; Verification of eligibility as per program criteria.
3. Payments
- All program fees must be paid in full before commencement unless explicitly allowed under government schemes or installment arrangements.
- Fees can be paid through authorized channels only (credit/debit card, net banking, UPI, bank transfer, or designated payment gateways).
- The Council is not responsible for failed transactions due to network issues, incorrect payment details, or unauthorized use of payment credentials.
4. Use of Services
Services are provided solely for personal skill development, certification, or training. Unauthorized use, resale, duplication, or distribution of courseware, content, or certificates is prohibited. The Council reserves the right to monitor participation for maintaining quality and compliance.
5. Certification & Recognition
Certificates will be awarded only upon successful completion of prescribed training, assessments, or examinations. The Council may revoke a certificate if it is discovered that it was obtained through misrepresentation, malpractice, or violation of rules.
6. Code of Conduct
Participants are expected to maintain professional behavior and integrity during training, assessments, and placements. Abide by examination rules and avoid unfair means. Respect trainers, assessors, fellow candidates, and staff. Violation of the code of conduct may result in suspension or expulsion without refund.
PART II – REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY
7. General Principles
The Council endeavors to provide high-quality services; however, circumstances may arise where refunds or cancellations become necessary. Fees once paid are non-refundable, except under specific conditions detailed below. Refunds, where applicable, will be processed only upon written request from the User.
8. Refund Eligibility
Refunds may be considered in the following cases:
- Program Cancellation by Council
If the Council cancels a scheduled training program, assessment, or course before commencement, participants will be entitled to a full refund of fees paid, without deductions.
- Rescheduling of Programs
If the Council reschedules a program and the new dates are unsuitable for the participant, a full refund or transfer to another batch will be offered. Participants must notify the Council of their decision within 7 working days of receiving the reschedule notice.
- Medical or Emergency Grounds
Participants unable to attend due to certified medical emergencies, accidents, or force majeure situations may request a pro-rata refund (after deducting administrative charges). Requests must be supported by documentary evidence.
9. Refund Non-Eligibility
Refunds will not be permitted in the following cases:
- Withdrawal of participation after the program/assessment has commenced.
- Absenteeism, lack of participation, or failure to attend sessions/assessments.
- Failure to meet eligibility criteria after enrollment.
- Voluntary withdrawal for reasons such as “change of mind”, “change of schedule”, or “other priorities”.
- Digital/e-learning content once accessed or downloaded.
- Rejection due to malpractice, misrepresentation, or code of conduct violation.
10. Refund Process
All refund requests must be submitted in writing to the official email address of the Council or through an online refund request form (if provided). Refunds, once approved, will be processed within 30 calendar days. Refunds will be made via the original payment mode, unless technically unfeasible, in which case an alternative method may be used. Administrative charges, transaction fees, or processing costs may be deducted from the refund amount.
11. Cancellation by Participants
Participants may request cancellation before commencement of the program. In such cases, no refund will be issued, but at the Council’s discretion, a transfer to another batch may be considered.
12. Cancellation by Council
The Council reserves the right to cancel or postpone any service due to insufficient enrollment, logistical constraints, or unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, affected users will be notified promptly and offered either a refund or a transfer to an alternative service.
PART III – MISCELLANEOUS TERMS
13. Intellectual Property Rights
All training material, assessments, case studies, presentations, logos, and courseware are the exclusive property of the Council or its partners. Participants are granted a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use such material for learning purposes only. Reproduction, resale, or commercial use without written authorization is prohibited.
14. Data Protection & Privacy
The Council collects and processes participant data in accordance with its Privacy Policy. Data may be shared with training partners, assessment bodies, employers, or government agencies strictly for skill development and placement purposes. Participants must ensure that their personal data provided during registration is accurate and up to date.
15. Limitation of Liability
The Council’s liability for any claims arising from services shall be limited to the amount of fees paid by the participant for the specific service. The Council shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages including loss of time, employment opportunities, or profits.
16. Force Majeure
The Council shall not be held responsible for delays, rescheduling, or cancellations caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, pandemics, strikes, or government restrictions.
17. Amendments
The Council may amend this Refund Policy and T&C from time to time. Updated versions will be published on our website with an effective date. Continued use of services after changes implies acceptance of revised terms.
18. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These terms shall be governed by and construed under the laws of India. Any disputes shall fall within the exclusive jurisdiction of courts located in Mumbai.
