Stipend

Monthly stipend breakdown

Credited to the apprentice's Savings Bank Account each month after adjusting unauthorised leaves, if any.

Note: Apprentices are not eligible for any other allowances or benefits. The Government's ₹4,500 share is credited via Direct Beneficiary Transfer (DBT) to the apprentice's NATS-registered bank account.

Who can apply

Eligibility criteria (as on 01.12.2025)

Nationality: Must be a citizen of India
Educational Qualification: Graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university, passed between 01 April 2021 and 01 December 2025
State & Zone: Candidates can apply for engagement in only one state and choose only one zone under that state
Prior Apprenticeship: Must not have previously undergone or currently be pursuing apprenticeship at Bank of India or any other organisation under the Apprentices Act
Work Experience: Candidates with 1 year or more of training/job experience after completing their educational qualification are not eligible
Ex-Servicemen: Not eligible — no reservation for ex-servicemen/disabled ex-servicemen in this engagement

How selection works

Selection process

1
Online written examination
100 objective questions across 4 subjects, 90 minutes, taken remotely with your own camera-enabled device. Date will be advised separately.
2
Test of local language
Conducted after qualifying the written exam, in the local language of the applied state. Waived if Class 10/12 mark sheet shows the language was studied.

Document verification & medical fitness
Original documents with self-attested photocopies must be produced. Engagement is subject to a medical fitness certificate from a registered MBBS physician.

Merit list & final selection
Merit lists are drawn state-wise and category-wise by marks in descending order; ties are broken by date of birth (senior by age ranks higher).

Training & certification
One-year apprenticeship as a Trainee. On successful completion, a proficiency certificate is issued by BOAT and uploaded to the NATS portal.
