Nationality: Must be a citizen of India
Educational Qualification: Graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized University. Passing certificate dated between 01 January 2022 and 01 June 2026 (both dates inclusive)
Freshers only: Must be a fresher with no prior training experience
Prior Apprenticeship: Must not have previously undergone or currently be pursuing apprenticeship at NIA or any other organisation under the Apprentices Act
Work Experience: Candidates with 1 year or more of job experience after completing their educational qualification are not eligible
Ex-Servicemen: Not eligible — no reservation for ex-servicemen/disabled ex-servicemen in this engagement

How selection works

Selection process

Online written examination
100 objective questions across 4 subjects, 60 minutes, taken remotely with your own camera-enabled device. Scheduled for 12 July 2026.

Shortlisting for language test
Candidates are ranked by marks; the top candidates equal to 3 times the relevant seats (per state and category) are shortlisted for the Regional Language Test and document verification.

Regional language test
Tests proficiency (reading, writing, speaking, understanding) in the local language of the applied state. Waived if Class 10/12 mark sheet shows the language was studied.

Document verification & medical fitness
Original certificates and self-attested photocopies must be produced. Engagement is subject to being declared medically fit.

Digital apprenticeship contract & training
Selected candidates receive a digital apprenticeship contract via the NATS portal. 12-month training begins on acceptance, with monthly stipend of ₹12,300.
